Are you overwhelmed by issues you feel you can’t solve? Do you want to feel more in control of your life and move forward in order to experience greater satisfaction and contentment.
Or maybe drugs, alcohol and other forms of addiction have become a way of coping with life’s difficulties or a way of blanking out and suppressing negative thoughts and emotions which may be causing you distress.
Therapy can be a way of exploring these issues at a deeper level in a safe environment, where you can feel really listened to and in my experience ‘really hear yourself’
Anxiety, depression, fears, low self-esteem can all impact on our everyday life and can create ‘walls’ we feel we cannot break down. Whatever struggles, big or small which are causing you distress, I will provide a safe comfortable environment where you can have the space and security to discuss you deepest emotions and fears. A space where you will not feel judged or ashamed but valued and listened to.
I tailor my approach to therapy to ensure it suits an individual’s needs. Ensuring I utilise all my skills and experience to meet the clients best interests. At times we will review our work during the counselling process to ensure you are moving forward and in the direction you desire.
I am a fully qualified counsellor with over 10 years of experience working with individuals in order for them to explore their emotions at a deeper level which will enable them to move forward. Together we can gain an understanding to why these emotions are having such a negative impact on your well-being and empower yourself to move forward.
I am also a fully qualified Substance Misuse Practitioner. I have years of experience working with clients struggling with addictions and also families and carers of these individuals. I have the skills and knowledge to offer you practical support alongside talking therapy.
I treat every client I meet as an individual and strongly believe everyone is unique and has the ability within themselves to make changes in order to live a more fulfilled life without the need for substances. Having an addiction does not define a person it can just be a, negative coping strategy or a habit which has developed in order to mask some deeper issue or fear.
If you want a therapist who can empathise, understand and be passionate for an individual to recover then rest assured I will walk alongside you through this difficult time.
I offer brief and long term therapy for adults and young people over the age of 14. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a session please feel free to contact me.
NOTE - I would highly recommend that if you are experiencing any current addictions that therapy is only undertaken in conjunction with simultaneous engagement with local addiction services.
