About me

The decision to try therapy may be because you are experiencing specific emotional challenges, or sometimes just feeling 'stuck' in a repeating pattern of destructive thoughts or behaviours. There are times when these issues can seem too difficult to unravel without professional support.

I am interested in all aspects of human experience, and have worked extensively within the areas of

  • relationship,
  • loss and bereavement,
  • depression and anxiety,
  • confidence issues,
  • somatic illness,
  • addiction,
  • trauma
  • loss of self/direction in life.

Alongside widely ranging life experiences and an integrative therapeutic training, I hope to offer a strong foundation in support of my clients.

Experience has shown me that trust and a sense of connection are essential to effective therapy, namely to helping you work through the issues that trouble you.

For this reason I offer an initial half hour session ( no charge) so that you can decide whether you would like to work with me. This matters, as effective therapy is very much a collaborative way of working.

Therapy can be very freeing . Given a warm and accepting space, being properly heard, the process can enable you to re-engage with your life empowered by a greater awareness and the strengths borne of that....hope, acceptance and a greater sense of detachment from difficult aspects of the past or present.

I trained in the model of Integrative therapy. This offers my clients a range of therapeutic approaches which can be tailored to individual client needs (and as these may change) over time.

I offer short and long-term therapy according to client need. If you would like to arrange an initial consultation, (no charge)I have flexible availability and would be very happy to offer you an appointment.

If you have any questions or would like to book your first session please contact me here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
