Are you finding it difficult to talk to friends or family about issues that are troubling you? Do you think that speaking to someone impartial may be easier? As your counsellor, I will listen to you with empathy and without judgement. You will have a safe space to talk, cry, shout or just think.
I can offer professional support and encouragement if you are experiencing difficulties that are impacting on your enjoyment of life. For some, those difficulties may be something concrete such as anxiety, relationship issues or bereavement. Others may be struggling to identify reasons for any underlying unhappiness or dissatisfaction. In either situation, I can help you to find your focus and identify your goals and hopes for the future.
I will do this by helping you to explore what’s going on for you, giving you the opportunity to consider different perspectives and solutions. In a lot of cases, the answer doesn’t mean making problems go away, but discovering different ways of thinking about them.
For some adults, counselling has been proven to be as effective as medication. Some of the benefits can include:
- Improved relationships
- Increased motivation
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
- Ability to cope better in difficult situations
- Better understanding of self and others
- Opening up new ways of seeing, living and relating
- Better decision making and planning
If you are interested in learning more about how counselling could help you, I would be happy to discuss this with you over the phone or by email. You can ask me any questions you have about my experience or qualifications to check that these fit in with your needs. You can then decide if you’d like to go ahead with booking a full assessment or if you’d prefer to take some more time to consider your options.
