Profile

Counselling can be a powerful way of making sense of life, moving forward and feeling better.  I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with ten years experience of working with people facing a wide range of difficulties.  I am happy to explore with you any aspect of your life and experience and to offer short or longer term counselling and psychotherapy depending on your needs and your situation.   I offer daytime and evening appointments and try to be flexible depending on your other commitments. I welcome enquiries by phone or email and work in a comfortable, private room in Lanark.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, Certificate in Counselling Skills and MA Honours Degree in Psychology.  I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with their ethical framework.  Since qualifying in 2001, I have undertaken a number of advanced professional training courses including person-centred brief therapy, counselling young people and play therapy.

I have ten years experience of working with people referred to counselling by their GPs and four years experience of working with young people in different school settings.  I have also worked as one of a small team of Directors, running a successful counselling service in a rural area.
