Kirsty Austin MBACP (Accred)
At times of difficulty to feel heard and understood with empathy and acceptance can be very healing. As an Accredited Integrative Counsellor I aim to provide a warm, accepting environment that is confidential and safe. By developing a supportive, non-judgemental relationship I aim to facilitate self understanding, new insights and to help individuals find new ways of coping.
I have extensive experience working with a variety of issues, working short & long term. I have a number of years experience working short term with Depression & Anxiety for an NHS IAPT Service and working longer term with clients within my Private Practice and a community counselling charity.
I am a Thought Field Therapy (TFT Tapping) practitioner. This tapping technique works well with many areas of difficulty including: Anxiety, phobias, OCD, anger, fear, trauma, depression, self esteem and unhelpful dysfunctional thoughts & beliefs.
The Integrative approach which I use focuses on the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. As we are all individual and unique I tailor my professional skills to the client’s needs.
I also draw on other counselling approaches mainly: Humanistic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Tapping-TFT and Transactional Analysis (TA)
