About me

  There are times in our  lives when we feel overwhelmed, anxious, sad and depressed,  we find it difficult to tell people how we feel or if they even understand;  this can impact on our physical, mental and general wellbeing and effect our daily functioning.

I can offer you the time and space to unjumble those thoughts and  feelings, give you the opportunity to  talk about these feelings in a safe and calm environment  be heard, be understood and not judged

I am a Person Centered Counsellor,  I offer you a calm relaxed  space in The garden room where we  can work with your thoughts, emotions and feelings. I do not presume to know the answers you seek or fix you: instead here in this gentle organic space you can explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions without fear of judgement  or ridicule. offering empathy, understanding and unconditional positive regard,  I like to work creatively and offer this space for you to find what works for you.

I understand  how difficult the first step is to making the decision to seek counselling and am honored that you wish to take those steps with me.

I work with Teenagers, Adults and trainee Counsellors, have extensive experience and understanding of  the education system and Health system and the demands and stress of working in these environments,  experience of working with ex addicts. 

I offer  a choice of sessions -  Face to Face -  online - Walk and Talk.

I am available Monday am, , Tuesday am/pm, Wednesday am/pm, Thursday am/pm,  Saturday am. 

Some of the areas I work in:- Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Teenage anxiety and stress,  Work Related Stress, work place bullying, Spiritual issues, Cross Culture issues, Bereavement & Loss,  Biodiversity, Caring role,  Family issues and relationship, I have  a good  understanding of the the impact of life changing health issues and effects on relationship,  Bereavement  and grief through loss of loved one.

Getting Started
Once you have made the initial contact, there will be a short  15 minute consultation over Zoom or the phone,  if we are in agreement  an appointment will be made for an hours session at the The Garden Room  , Wainscott, more detailed directions will be given once your appointment is confirmed. or an online session if requested.

In the first session  we will discuss the therapeutic contract,  times, fees and what you are looking to achieve; this will be followed  by a shortened counselling session after which you decide if you wish to have further sessions. You have complete autonomy.
There is no obligation as to how many sessions you have and sessions can be ended by either one of us.

In addition I offer walking/talking therapy

if you are housebound or unable to access the building sessions can be conducted on Zoom 

I am a member of  the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework to work in your best interest.

All  sessions are strictly private and  confidential.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
