“An abnormal reaction to an abnormal situation is normal behavior.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning
When we feel bad it is happening for a reason - it is a normal reaction to feel depressed, anxious, confused, sad or just bad when things are wrong in our lives.
We are all normal human beings with normal needs but the world we live in today is often anything but normal. At times our world can be overly demanding, harsh, cruel or rejecting. When this happens our basic human needs are denied and we feel pain.
My name is Kevin Simpson. I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
I trained in Psychotherapy and Counselling for two reasons:
- To learn and understand about the human condition.
- To help others gain freedom from suffering.
Are you struggling to understand yourself or your relationships?
- why you are feeling the way you do?
- why you are doing the things you're doing?
- why your thinking seems to have a life of its own?
- why you feel stuck?
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’ my brand of Psychotherapeutic Counselling can provide you with the answers you need.
There are times for each and every one of us when life can be hard. Events can happen or things can build up which throw us. Our normal way of being can change rapidly and we can find ourselves struggling with feelings or thoughts which are painful, confusing or self-destructive - affecting our relationships, study, work, family, health, etc. Many people struggle with such difficulties for many years, when there is no need. Psychotherapeutic Counselling can provide you with a rapid path to help you feel better, and learn new understanding/awareness or yourself, others, events and situations which you can take forward into the future.
If you are struggling to deal with the way you are feeling please get in touch. I am a fully-qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, trained in a variety of methods and approaches. I have extensive experience helping individuals from all walks of life deal with their emotional and psychological wellbeing problems. I also offer relationship counselling for all types of relational issues and problems.

- Fully understand and clarify exactly what is going on for you.
- Identify what you want to achieve or change.
- Raise your awareness of how you think, feel and behave.
- Enable your inner resources so you can achieve your goals.
- Establish new ways of managing the challenges you face.
Location, cost and availability…
I am based in a warm and comfortable counselling room located conveniently in Newcastle City Centre. I am available evenings Mon - Fri and Sunday.
