Kevin Fletcher MA (Couns), LLB, MBACP, TA (101)
I am an independent counsellor and psychotherapist, with a high level of qualification and with extensive experience and expertise.
My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in the belief that each human being has a capacity to grow, to change, and to create meaning in his or her life - and that those aims can be achieved if the conditions are right.
I provide counselling, psychotherapy, and personal development for those trying to deal with adverse life events such as work-related stress, trauma, loss, anxiety, personal and working relationships, and depressive thoughts and feelings.
I have a particular interest in existential approaches to therapy, seeking to understand the fundamental issues that confront all human beings: how to get a sense of our place in the world; how to cope with the idea of our mortality; how we relate to others; how to take responsibility for our own lives and for the choices we make; how we find meaning in our lives.
In my experience, most of us seek to feel more at ease with ourselves and with the world around us. With appropriate support, I believe that bringing about change in our lives is achievable - and that it will usually lead to a more rewarding and fulfilling life.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is best seen as a collaborative process in which we work together to identify how best to achieve a sense of personal development and improvement.
I specialise in counselling, psychotherapy and personal development. I am also a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work within the BACP's ethical framework.
