Many clients have stated that simply having someone to talk to who is outside their circle of friends was enough to help.
Counselling using the PCA (Person Centred Approach) offers a safe and secure environment for a client to explore issues that are disturbing them. It is the intention of counselling to help a client work autonomously over time.
To help create self confidence and autonomy we ensure that the client is comfortable and relaxed. The Person Centred Counsellor would ensure that no pressure would be put on you to divulge anything you are not ready to disclose at this time.
Some clients prefer to have a less public setting so I will either see you at your home, or at my home. I would suggest if counselling is to take place at your home, the sessions are one to one and steps should be taken by you that during the *one hour session you are not disturbed as this can be of detriment to the therapeutic process. Please choose a time when you would be alone; a period before and after the session may also be of benefit to you as counselling may bring forth upsetting events. * A counselling hour is 50 minutes.
I can supply relaxation music CDs, (currently £5.00) to aid with your resting periods These are available whether or not you take up counselling with me.
I can see you any time up to 7:00pm at night from 10am in the morning. 7 days a week.
Training, qualifications & experience
I worked at Rotherham and Barnsley Mind from May 2011 till 2015 I resigned from Mind to persue my ever building private practice. I left Mind in October 2015 to pursue and expand my private practice. I have completed and passed training in domestic abuse/domestic violence and bereavement.

I have taught coping strategies to groups (my last clients were MENCAP) to help with coping strategies.
I have also worked with occupational health companies to help employees/clients on their road back to work after trauma.
