I am a experienced BACP accredited Counsellor/psychotherapist offering both short and long term counselling /psychotherapy. I use a psychodynamic/Integrative model which enables me to draw from a number of approaches to suit your individual need. I am a trained EMDR therapist which is particularly useful in treating trauma and many other deep rooted issues.In addition I am an experienced clinical Supervisor .and currently supervise students at the University of Leicester studying on the Masters in psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I am experienced in working with many presenting issues for example;
- relationship difficulties
- sexual abuse
- cultural/ethnicity/gender issues
- low self esteem
- dissasociative identity disorder
- and stress to name a few.
With the help of a strong therapeutic relationship I believe people are able to gain a better understanding of their current situation. And something from the past that may be playing a part in current feelings.
You may not understand why you feel the way you do but together we can find some clarity. I believe everybody has the ability to change and sometimes we just need to be heard.
I am able to offer a safe confidential space where we can explore together, at your own pace the root of your confusion or distress. I am sensitive to all clients religious and cultural beliefs and believe everyone should be treated equally despite their ethnic, cultural or sexual beliefs or background.
