Kellie Madden - FDA Counselling Degree
I am a qualified BACP registered integrative counsellor, providing a confidential and professional service for adults and young people, in the Carmarthen, Gorseinon and Ammanford areas.
For the past two years I have been working under the mental health umbrella with 'Mind'. Mental health effects many people and is not always visible. Fear, anger, loneliness, stress, low self esteem can change our thoughts feelings and behaviour.
Improvements of well-being, seeking support and being listened to often create a sense of a positive reflection and can make changes to our daily lives.
This has inspired me to develop myself and talking therapy within this area.
The initial step into a therapeutic talking relationship is almost like a first date, the introduction arranged but not knowing if there will be a connection. My belief is that the counsellor / client relationship is of utmost importance, so choosing the right counsellor for you is key, allowing you to engage in an accepting, non judgemental relationship which encourages openness, honesty, courage and autonomy, to enhance exploration of change.
In a safe environment, I combine a therapeutic relationship with varied theoretical approaches, Humanistic, Cognitive behavioural therapy , transactional analysis, solution focused, to promote a positive journey of change, development and empowerment for each individual and their needs.
I incorporate a variety of ongoing training to ensure continuous personal development within the BACP guidelines, for my own personal needs and those of my clients.
