Kellie Gibson Pg Dip MBACP
40 Wilbury Road
As a counsellor for over seven years, I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing people around a wide range of issues. It can be difficult to open up to a stranger, or it might be your first time to counselling, so I offer all new clients a free 30 minute introductory session.
This is an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable with me, and the way we would be working together. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about counselling, qualifications, the type of counselling I practice, days and times available, cost, and anything else you might want to know. This is an informal chat and there is no obligation to continue.
As a qualified, experienced counsellor, I work closely with clients, providing the warm, supportive and confidential environment they need to make effective decisions leading to positive changes in their lives. I believe that to develop a trusting relationship where this exploration can occur depends on the counsellor being as honest and open as possible, and this is a quality I constantly strive to bring to the therapeutic relationship.
How Counselling can help.
My aim as a counsellor is to work together with clients and to try and understand their experiences, to listen in a non-judgemental way and to accept individuals as they are. My role as counsellor is not intended to be one of authority where I offer advice, but one which allows the exploration of choices and decisions which are right for you.
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Brighton and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I also work as a Consultant on the Post-Graduate Counselling Course at the University of Brighton, working with trainee counsellors.

"Kellie Gibson was always what I considered a natural therapist. I believe that academic training can polish a gift in the field of counselling fellow human beings. However, what is of paramount importance to excel as a counsellor is life skill, insight, intuition and the capacity to hone in to clients issues truthfully, but at the same time in a non-confrontational manner. Kellie Gibson has these traits."
