About me

If you're feeling stressed, anxious, depressed or facing difficulties you can’t overcome alone I can help. I can offer a safe confidential space so you are able to share your problems, tears and joys. Talking can help your life feel less difficult and easier to make sense of. I seek to facilitate your growth so you can feel comfortable in your own skin and move forwards.

Introduction:

I believe I am a warm, empathic person; I will listen without judging you and offer support and challenge so together we can explore the areas/issues you choose - whilst I believe you have within you the resources to find the answers.

I am passionate and focused about my work and feel I can offer an element of creativity.

I can offer you the opportunity to explore and talk about your problems, issues, concerns, behaviours; whatever is worrying you for whatever reason in a private, confidential space.

I will validate your experience so you are able to identify changes you wish to achieve; so you can make sense of your life.

It's okay if you feel vulnerable and unable to trust we can build on those foundations; you don't have to be lonely and suffer in silence. I can help.

About Counselling:

As a Humanistic therapist I will facilitate your journey so you can grow, change and flourish in the way you wish to.

FAQ:

Q: What will you do?

A: I will listen; counselling is fundamentally a talking therapy so I feel the relationship between you and me is so important.

I will focus on supporting you with self-development to enable you to gain insight and understanding of your behaviours and feelings; to recognise your own strengths and form your own choices.

Q: Who benefits from counselling?

Counselling is beneficial to everyone wanting to identify fixed patterns of behaviour and work to develop new strategies and ways of thinking.

Counselling helps with discovering your confidence and strength which enables a thirst for continued self-awareness and growth.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
