I offer individual counselling and my core belief is a Person-Centred approach. I also work from an integrative perspective drawing from various theories such as the Psychodynamic – to help us understand where issues may arise from and Mindfulness – to help balance and slow down our busy thought patterns.
'You can't stop the waves but you can learn to surf'
It is my aim to be genuine and build a trusting therapeutic relationship with you, which I believe is important if we are working towards untangling the turmoil that life throws our way.
I would like to reach into your world listening attentively, with warmth and compassion so that you don't have to feel alone with confused thoughts and emotions.
As a Person-Centred counsellor I can help explore difficult thoughts and feelings with acceptance, understanding and without judgement. Maybe this is something you are unable to achieve with family and friends, however, counselling gives you the opportunity to experience this.
I believe we are all individuals and hold our own values and beliefs therefore I would encourage you to make your own choices and decisions, at your pace which could help you to feel empowered and feel a sense of worth.
Counselling is a journey and I am open to anyone who wishes to walk down this path. I very much believe in equality therefore I hope you will feel comfort in knowing all are welcome regardless of difference.

- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Personality disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Other areas of counselling I deal with
The issues I work with in counselling vary from low self-esteem, relationship issues, confidence issues, loss and bereavement, work related issues and mental health issues e.g. depression, anxiety and bi-polar.
Adding to that I specialise in counselling for people who have friends or family suffering with the knock on affect of their addictions or carers who look after family members with disabilities/illness.
I have first hand experience of the ripple effect caused by someone who is struggling with addictions, therefore I offer a service for the people involved or who are living with it.
I practice privately in Trowbridge where you can feel safe in the knowledge that what you bring with you will be confidential. I offer a free initial half hour consultation where we can discuss what it is you would like to achieve from counselling and if you would be happy to work with me.
If we agree to continue with counselling we can discuss an agreeable time and day. Sessions are usually weekly and last for 1 hour.
I offer 'open ended' therapy but we can work short term depending on what feels right for you and we would take regular reviews of how the counselling process is going.
This will be put in an agreed contract that will be discussed at our initial consultation.
One hour session - £35 which is payable each session.
Consession rate for students, OAPs and unemployed - £25 which is payable each session.
What is Counselling?
Feelings of low self - esteem?
Anxious and unsure why?
Depression which feels like you are under a dark cloud?
This kind of emotional distress can leave us feeling overwhelmed, lost and powerlessness which can be difficult to face alone.Struggling with this may feel embarrassing but it is nothing to be ashamed of!
Humans are complex beings and we need the opportunity and space to process our emotions and feelings safely and this is where counselling can help. The experience of being heard can be very powerful and aid towards self-healing.
Counselling can offer a safe place to explore 'the self' as it is all about you!
Counselling may not always solve problems but it can help to make sense of your life and understand yourself better which should reduce the feeling of isolation.
'I find that when life is richest and most rewarding it is a flowing process.
To experience this is both fascinating and a little frighting. I find I am at my best when I can can let the flow of my experience carry me, in a direction which appears to be forward, towards goals of which I am dimly aware.'
