Katy Callus-Upstone MBACP
I provide a safe space for you to talk about the issues that are affecting your life and well being. I will listen in an empathic and non-judgemental way and so gain an understanding of what is troubling you. It can feel difficult sharing our feelings with the people around us for many reasons. Talking to a counsellor can help make sense of the way you are feeling. I can help you to understand your feelings and thoughts, which may feel overwhelming or distressing, so you can move forward with your life.
My approach is Psychodynamic where we will explore how past experiences may be affecting your present life or influencing current difficulties. I am also trained in the person centred approach and appreciate that present issues or trauma can affect our lives.
I have had experience in the public sector working with adults, families, couples and children and so I appreciate the issues that affect our relationships such as depression, separation, bereavement and abuse.
I offer long term, open ended, counselling to adults and young people. I also offer short term counselling where we will focus on a specific issue or difficulty.
