About me
I am a friendly and experienced counsellor who is passionate about providing both the space and support to allow people to achieve real change in their lives. I am a fully registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and am committed to delivering a high quality and ethical practice.
I am also a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice and I incorporate their ethical guidelines into my work with families, couples and young people.
I am experienced at dealing with a range of client issues and can work with several models of counselling to suit your specific needs. I have particular experience in working with anxiety, depression, addiction, childhood abuse, trauma, eating disorders, and relationship issues.
I have many years of experience working as part of helping relationships with people. I am strictly confidential and passionate about the work I do. I am happy to help you to deal with anything you are going through and have worked with a wide variety of clients.
I am available to work with teenagers and adults and am happy to discuss my approach with differing age groups if you would like to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a highly qualified practitioner with a first class BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling, which included advanced counselling theory from Person Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic and Existential schools of counselling. I am also a qualified Systemic Practitioner following post graduate study at the Tavistock in London.
I have spent many years working in addiction services and with children and family counselling charities as well as within a busy private practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
