About me

Hi, I'm Katrina and first I would like to tell you a bit about me.  I worked for the Ambulance service for 10 years and saw that there was a lack of services provided for people who needed to talk or experience a talking therapy, it was this that enlightened me to train as a counsellor.

As a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in the heart of Blackpool is rewarding in its own right.  Blackpool is my home town, and being able to offer something back to the people of Blackpool is humbling.

I offer person-centred therapy to adults, young people and children, in a warm safe, non-judgemental space.  Where the therapy is designed to work around the client, to explore their issues and feelings, to be heard, improving your self-esteem and self-awareness.  Bringing new hope to life.

Having experience working as a counsellor in schools with children and young people, I use therapy through play and drawing.  Covering many topics including, but not exclusive to;

  • Eating disorders
  • Abuse
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Parents separation
  • Bereavement

With adults I have worked in hospices and doctor surgeries providing counselling for;

  • Bereavement
  • Terminal/chronic illnesses
  • Abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Sexuality
  • Phobias
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self-esteem

Being a member of the BACP (the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) is something I take seriously. It ensures that I adhere to guidelines that help protect my clients welfare, confidentiality, and seek regular supervision.

If this feels that this is right for you, or you would like further information on the services I can provide, I invite you to contact me for further details.
