I am an intergrative psychological counsellor providing counselling for individuals. As a qualified supervisor, I also provide supervision for individuals and groups of psychotherapists, related health professionals and students. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a qualified social worker and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Much research identifies that the most important factor for effective counselling is the relationship between client and counsellor.
My training has given me a depth of understanding of a range of psychological theories. I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive space to explore your situation. I will work with you collaboratively to create understanding and meaning from painful emotional and psychological difficulties you may be experiencing.
For the last 12 years I have worked in a psycho-social-spiritual care team in a hospice, alongside a private practice which has included people facing a variety of personal confusion. Prior to this I worked in social work settings including hospital, with families and within mental health. I have also managed a district team of social workers.
I am commited to ongoing professional development and am in regular supervision for my practice. Like most I have had my share of sadnesses and life challenges including life-threatening illness. I know that with the right support, effective professional input and a personal commitment to change, anything is possible. It would be a privilege to be part of a process that could help you.
Please do not hestitate to contact me and I am happy to provide a short initial telephone consultation without charge if that would be helpful.
