About me

I am an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist trained at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. I work from a therapy room in my garden in Mortimer (off A33, nr junctions 11 & 12, near Reading and Basingstoke).
The use of varied art materials in psychotherapy allows for expression and exploration of feelings and issues that may be difficult to put into words. It is not necessary that a piece of art is created but only that you, as a client, bring a willingness to use the arts to explore yourself and your concerns.

I also provide EMDR which is an effective therapy, often offered in longer 1.5 hour sessions.  This is a recognised and effective treatment for PTSD and trauma and can be integrated with the use of art materials.

These two modalities integrate well or can be used independently.

I am a member of EMDR Association UK.

I am also a registered member of the UKCP.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have an interest in working with trauma, whether from a single traumatic event (like a car accident, assault or rape) or from childhood experiences that are still triggered and influence behaviour and relationships today. I am also interested in integrating the use of arts with EMDR in supporting healing and processing of traumatic experiences.

I have experiences of working with: Living with a medical condition or rare disorder; appearance concerns and body difference; mental health concerns; trauma and relational trauma
