About me

Introducing 'Why Weight, Live Now!' – A transformative weight management and body acceptance programme grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

With over 15 years of counselling experience, I've dedicated 14 years to practicing ACT. This evidence-based therapy focuses on values, forgiveness, acceptance, and living in the present moment. The programme is a culmination of my expertise, offering a unique perspective on wellbeing.

ACT doesn't promise quick fixes; instead, it empowers individuals to navigate their thoughts and feelings and societal influences. ACT helps you break free from comparison traps and societal expectations, especially regarding body image and weight.

Join 'Why Weight, Live Now!' to redefine your relationship with your body and embrace a more accepting and compassionate stance towards yourself. The course aims to liberate you from yo-yo dieting and the constant struggle with food. It's not just about weight loss; it's about understanding the deeper reasons behind your body-related desires.

This online course will be starting in May, with initial assessments beginning in March. It is accessible nationwide.

Course Structure:

  • 6 consecutive weeks of 2-hour therapist-led sessions
  • Pre-workshop one-on-one initial assessment (1 hour)
  • Post-workshop one-on-one session (1 hour)
  • Follow-up one-on-one session one month later (1 hour)

Don't miss the opportunity to embark on this transformative journey starting in May. Perfect for those struggling with body image, on-off dieting, confidence, or related issues. Break free and live now!

I have been practising as a therapist for 14+ years.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a trained BEAT (Eating Disorders National Charity) facilitator and an Empowering Families (New Maudsley Method) Coach and have extensive experience working with those affected by eating disorders.

In addition, although above is a general list of the areas of counselling I deal with, I don't categorise individual's needs according to issues because I work with people, not diagnosis or categories.
