About me

My name is Kate Rochford and I am an experienced, qualified psychotherapist working in Aberdeen, offering psychotherapy for adults, couples counselling and relationships therapy. I offer a professional, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

Together, we will work to navigate and manage your difficulties, with the ultimate aim of enhancing your sense of well being and in turn, enabling you to lead a fuller and more satisfying life.

I offer a welcome space for GSRD exploration, to help deepen understanding, validation and self awareness within the therapeutic relationship.

I provide both long- term psychotherapy and short term counselling, using a humanistic, integrative approach. I enjoy working with clients to help develop insights, effective communication and make connections which enhance positive change.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified humanistic integrative psychotherapist, utilising Transactional Analysis as my framework. I enjoy continuing my learning journey, keeping current with up to date therapeutic teachings, to help develop and enhance my psychotherapy service, and following the guidelines of UKCP.

Diploma in Supervision accredited by COSCA, awarded by Physis Scotland 2021

Diploma in Psychotherapy accredited by UKCP, awarded by Northern Guild in 2017

Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy 2016 accredited by Newman University.

Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Accredited by BACP 2016

I trained for five years at the Northern Guild in Newcastle qualifying as a psychotherapist in 2017 and registered member of UKCP.

UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registered member

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in the session and therefore I abide by the UKCP Code of Ethics.

All my work is appropriately supervised in accordance with the UKCP guidelines. I have undergone intensive, long term psychotherapy of my own, helping offer a reflective and supportive approach.

I have many years experience working with under graduates, PhD students, and post graduates, and continue to enjoy providing therapeutic support during this significant time of people’s lives.

I set up my private practice in January 2016.
