About me

I am a qualified Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Trauma Practitioner with over 15 years experience. I have been Accredited with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists) since 2003 and I am also an Accredited EMDR Practitioner with the EMDR Association UK & Ireland.

I offer a warm, non judgemental environment and an open honest approach to working with both individuals and couples. I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means that I draw on a number of models for therapy, adapting my approach to suit you. I have extensive experience in working with a wide range of issues, having worked in a variety of settings including, a bereavement service, a private psychiatric hospital and most recently at Transport for London's Occupational Health Counselling & Trauma Service.

In 2005 I trained in EMDR and now use this extensively in my work. EMDR is recognised by the NICE guidelines as a treatment of choice for trauma and PTSD and can also be used to help a number of other problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

In 2001 I completed a 5 year Post-graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling at CCPE (The Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education - London W2).

I have subsequently completed my EMDR training Level 1, 2 and 3 and I have also completed a training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma.

I am committed to my ongoing professional development and attend regular conferences, workshops and trainings.

I have been registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists) since 2003.

I worked for Wandsworth Bereavement Service for 8 years, moving on to a private psychiatric hospital where I ran therapeutic groups and saw patients individually. Most recently I worked for 6 years as a Counsellor and Trauma Practitioner at Transport for London's Occupational Health Counselling and Trauma Service. Within my private practice I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues.

I also work for Employee Assistance Programmes and insurance companies offering EMDR and trauma therapy to victims of crime and road traffic accidents.

Further information

I am an integrative psychotherapist committed to providing a safe and confidential therapeutic space that allows for gentle exploration of your experience. At the heart of all that I do is the importance of the relationship between therapist and client in the healing process. For this reason at your first session I take a detailed assessment and allow time for your questions so that collaboratively we can make decisions about the way forward.

I am happy to work with a solution focused short term approach over 6 to 8 sessions. However, some issues may have their roots in the past and can require deeper exploration and understanding over a longer period of time.
