About me

Hello there. I am an experienced Counsellor registered with the British Psychoanalytical Council BPC. I have an established private practice in Caversham where I see clients with a wide range of issues including difficulties with relationships, work problems, loss, bereavement and past experiences affecting their lives today.

What brings you to this website today?
There are many reasons someone may find themselves on this site. Perhaps it's because life feels an overwhelming struggle, maybe you are tired of familiar patterns repeating themselves in your life, or there is one problem that you feel you cannot resolve, perhaps it's something else? Whatever brought you here you have taken an important step forward.

How can counselling help?
Counselling is an opportunity to talk to someone in confidence about the difficulties you are facing now. It is a regular time and space set aside each week for you to be heard in a non judgmental way. Whether you are feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed and don’t really understanding why, or whether you know why you feel the way you do, by working together with your counsellor it may be possible to really understand these feelings, perhaps for the first time. This can lead to the change you've been looking for.

An Initial meeting:
We would agree to meet to talk about what has led you to seek counselling at this time. To think about the difficulties and problems you are facing in your life in a safe, non judgmental and confidential space. We can then think through whether counselling would be helpful at this time and how that would be agreed by us.

I would like to hear from you. If you want to contact me then please leave a message on my phone, 07901 940183 and I will reply usually within 24 hours. If you prefer you can email me via the link above.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
