I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and offer Psychotherapy. I am based in the centre of Wilmslow in Cheshire . My aim is to provide a safe, friendly and encouraging place to help you explore areas in your life that may be hindering you to move forward.
At various times in our lives, many people experience periods of unhappiness which may lead to confused and overwhelming feelings. Life can sometimes feel very difficult and we often don't know which way to turn. Maybe you have struggled for some time with an issue such as; depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, childhood issues, self-harm, rejection, OCD, abuse or a loss and have decided it is time to explore and deal these problems.
It might be that you just want to explore your own thoughts and behaviour patterns towards others and want to make steps to improve your outlook on life in a more positive way and it is beneficial to talk to someone outside the immediate family or social friendships. This is where counselling may help you to gain a clearer perspective of yourself and provide you with the professional support to work through any issues that arise.
I have lots of experience of working with both adults and teenagers and having previously worked as a school counsellor, I have a wealth of knowledge within teenage issues such as self-harm, eating disorders, exam stress and bullying.Working with teenagers is hugely rewarding for me knowing that those individuals are investing their time into exploring their issues so young that will benefit them immensely as they approach their adult years.
Deciding to start counselling can often feel daunting and it maybe a huge step to take; I endeavour to work alongside you throughout the therapy sessions and I will provide you with the support that you require to gain the confidence and strength to work at your own pace. I commit in providing a professional, warm, caring and non-judgemental practice and I treat every individual the highest respect and acceptance.
My approach to counselling is to work in an integrative way, which means that I integrate different styles of helping within our work, that is tailored to suit your needs. I believe that, we all think, feel and react differently to situations in life, so this approach is unique for each person.
I am very passionate about my work and feel it to be a huge privilege to share my clients journey.
