Profile

Would you like some help and support, somebody to talk to? If you are finding life difficult, 1-2-1 counselling can help, whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, confidence, your relationships, grief or something else.

As an experienced counsellor and full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the BACP, I provide a non-judgemental, confidential safe space for you to explore things about yourself and any problems you may be facing. I work with adults, couples, children and young people.

The counsellor/client relationship is unique, respectful, valuing and empowering. Being listened to and heard can really help you to understand issues you are facing in your life and enable you to find inner resources.

I offer weekly group and Saturday workshops as well as individual and couples counselling. In addition I am also a communication consultant and can help you communicate better with friends, family, children, parents or at work.

For a no-obligation, confidential chat please call me on 07773 350459.

I am conveniently located just 10 minutes from the M5 (from both junctions 26 and 27) and there is plenty of free parking or in Exeter city centre.

I provide day, evening and weekend appointments from £35 a session, in Wellington, Somerset and £45 in Exeter and Bristol. Call me on 07773 350459 (you can also text or email, on karen@karenjanas.co.uk, your number and request a call back) I will get back to you within 24 hours.

ABOUT ME

I help people with depression, anxiety, anger management, suicidal thoughts, gender and sexuality issues, bereavement, family problems, relationship issues, abuse, stress, debt issues, with their career and interview, addiction, obsessive thoughts, life changes and many more.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, accredited by the BACP and I work in different ways combining several approaches to therapy. I regularly integrate Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, visualisation, mindfulness, coaching, and Gestalt, therapies, intuitively working with you and your needs. This means that the work we do together is unique and tailored for you. I also like to use creative materials, such as clay, stones, sand and art in our work, depending on you and your preferences. For further information on any of these therapies please see www.itsgoodtotalk.org, or call me on 07773 350459 to discuss.

I am also a professional coach (business, personal and public speaking) and will draw upon these skills, when appropriate, as well.

I work with adults, children, young people, families and couples.

MY COUNSELLING SERVICE

We can all find life difficult at times and seeking help can be daunting, especially when you don't know that person. Finding the right counsellor, somebody you feel comfortable with is really important. I will always treat you with respect and integrity and our work is confidential. Please call for a free no-obligation chat about how I can help. The initial appointment is an opportunity for you to ask questions, for me to understand what has brought you to counselling and for us to decide if we would like to work together. Whilst there is no set number of sessions, as we are all different and have different needs, we can agree a set number or a regular review.

After the initial appointment counselling sessions begin in earnest. Appointments are usually held weekly but some clients like to have more frequent sessions. Sessions continue for as long as you feel that you need them and they are benefiting you.

WEEKLY GROUP
The weekly group provides a package of six two-hour sessions. Places are limited to 8-12 people and costs £150 per person for the six week package (12 hours of group therapy). The weekly group focuses on depression, anxiety, stress and anger. The next group starts in July 2012, please call or email me to find out more and to book your place.

SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
Regular Saturday workshops are held throughout the year, 10am - 4pm. Places are limited and cost £87. For a full program please email or call for details.
