Kam Nijjar (MBACP)
I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I am also currently training to be a clinical supervisor.
I commenced my journey in training to be a therapist 14 years ago. Previously I have worked as a Youth Worker, Careers Officer, and in Senior Management positions. As a therapist I have returned to my roots doing something that I believe is important and fundamental to Humans which is to live the best lives we possibly can.
I believe that sometimes things get in the way of us achieving our full potential. Mostly things that are not in our control for example being abandoned as a child, being bullied, being told your not good enough or pretty enough or bright enough. Sometimes it is life, someone dear to us dies, your made redundant from work.
Then there may be things like you have difficulty understanding your relationships, with partners, children, family, friends or at work. You may feel isolated, depressed, anxious.
You may be self harming, taking drugs, be dependant on alcohol, want to lose weight. You may have witnessed Abuse or survived Abuse. Whatever the reason, Counselling does help.
