About me

Welcome to my site, Building Bridges Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I am an experienced and fully qualified Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and as such I abide by the BACP’s ethical codes of practice. This includes regular supervision and on-going training.

I know it is difficult to take that first step when you recognise that you need help and I can fully understand that you may not have talked about your life in depth to anyone else.  I also appreciate that this can be perceived as a scary, emotional experience.  However, I will listen empathically and non-judgmentally to your concerns and encourage, support and explore the processes and patterns of your life, in a safe, friendly and confidential environment.  I will work with you on a regular day and time to suit your needs, using different models of counselling and other additional training practices, to enable positive changes to take place in your future.

My knowledge and experience in short-term and long term work includes counselling clients with concerns regarding Mental Health issues such as Anxiety and Depression, General Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorders, Phobias, Relationships issues (personal, family and work) low self-esteem and confidence, addictions  and self-harm, as well as those listed below.

I have recently introduced Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)  within my work to enhance the counselling process.

EFT is recognised for helping in many areas of your life, such as anxiety and depression and including many of the concerns listed below. EFT can restore your awareness and trust in the natural healing abilities of your mind and body and this in turn gives you empowerment to be in control of your negative thoughts and feelings to enable positive changes to take place over a short period of time.
