However that being said in Counselling YOU ARE IN THE DRIVING SEAT, and as such you are in CONTROL as to how long we work together,  we will always help you to navigate what's best for you.

We will explore together how long may be beneficial for you, based on your individual needs and will set out a initial number of sessions with you, that feel comfortable for you. this will be reviewed regularly.

What can I expect from counselling? :-

Counselling by its very nature, is about exploring painful thoughts and feelings and will be emotionally challenging and draining at times.  As such there will be times when you feel worse before you feel better and lighter. However this is all part of the counselling process and as your counsellors we are there to support you.  The end result will mean that you are able to move forward hopefully feeling lighter and able to express and manage your emotions in a healthier way.

Testimonials

" Sian has been a fantastic counsellor - she helped put me at ease with the counselling process from the start and seemed to really understand me and the issues was hoping to address, even when I was struggling to understand and express myself.

It is thanks to Sian's knowledge and skill that I have been able to make so much positive progress. I almost feel like a new person compared to how I felt before beginning counselling. Its a liberating feeling.

I really appreciate Sian's balance of friendliness and understanding with honesty and professionalism. I always felt that she had my best interests at heart, even when the work we were doing was challenging.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a counsellor." Female mid 30's

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
