About me

From time to time most people find life is pretty awful. If you are struggling with daily life then it can really help to have someone who will listen to you, will never judge you, will simply help you find a way through the confusion and loneliness.

As a qualified Person Centred Counsellor I provide individual counselling for adults and young people. I have worked with clients on a range of issues including: bereavement, historic abuse, low self-esteem, redundancy and other work stresses, difficult relationships, memory loss, parenting issues, becoming a carer, facing reduced independence, sexual assaults and pregnancy/fertility related issues. I also work with clients who are searching for meaning in their lives and /or considering a change in direction. I am based in South Manchester and offer home visits for those who find it difficult to travel.

I have also spent 20 years in education and held many roles from classroom teacher to senior leader. Throughout, my focus was always on ensuring inclusion and maximising the opportunities of every student. I learnt a great deal working in a dynamic diverse community and my existing commitment to equality and inclusion was strengthened by this experience. It also gave me insight into and respect for, the diversity of faiths that flourish in this country. It was wonderful work and I enjoyed it greatly.

I am used to working with people who are not yet fluent in English. I have worked with, for and alongside a very diverse range of people and value this immensely.

I am a volunteer counsellor with the LBGT Foundation and with Face to Face. I was also a volunteer counsellor with Age UK for a couple of years.

If you want your life to be better, then counselling can help. Contact me by text, email or phone and we can begin to change things.
