Our lives can be greatly affected when we experience change in any shape or form but its how we feel towards that changes that affects us. Changes can be good or bad, right or wrong, sometimes what we wanted sometimes not. Areas such as relationships, anxiety, depression, loss, weight.....the list is endless..but it affects us.....change happens. Each issue is every bit as important as the other depending on who we are and how it affects us. We may feel lost/alone in the world, struggling to make decisions which are right for us. We may act in ways that are harmful to ourselves/others as we struggle to understand or accept the how we feel. At times like this we need someone to listen and not just listen but actually hear us without fear of judgement, someone who is willing to take that journey with us.
As a counsellor I work in a way that enables people to explore options available to them so that they may achieve a greater sense of peace within. I encourage my clients to take control of the direction in which they wish to proceed by supporting them and allowing them to explore opportunities that are available to them. Each and every client is a unique individual, therefore my work is flexible and creative. Together we can challenge the behaviours and issues that act as barriers against you reaching your goals.
I believe it's important to build a relationship with a person that is built on honesty and trust, which I'm aware takes time. In a caring manner I approach all issues with warmth, sensitivity, empathy and positive regard. With these laid down as foundations I will be readily available to offer support and guidance throughout our work together.
