Are you looking for support to see you through a difficult period in your life? Is your relationship in difficulty or at crisis point? Perhaps you have been struggling for a while and you're not sure where to turn? As an experienced therapist I aim to provide a safe, respectful and optimistic environment which helps you find ways of dealing with situations that right now might feel distressing and overwhelming.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to recover from upsetting and difficult events whatever their background or issues and problems. I aim to provide you with the support, skills and capacity to overcome difficulties, enabling you to live your life exactly how you choose to live it.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist working in private practice with adults and couples.
Having worked as a Director and Board member of a multi-national organisation I retrained as a psychologist working as a Director and Trustee at a voluntary counselling organisation in Birmingham and at several NHS hospitals in the West Midlands.
I have a very positive optimistic approach to working with clients believing that in the right environment anything is possible. I really enjoy my work and believe that helping people make desired changes in their lives can be an empowering experience for them.
How could I help you?
I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to counselling therefore I work integratively which means I use different approaches within the counselling relationship dependent on your needs. I have trained in a variety of approaches including humanistic psychotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and transactional analysis.
The therapy can be short term or long term depending on your personal circumstances and we would discuss this in our first meeting.
I deal with a wide range of issues including
- Relationship difficulties
- Stress and anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Bereavement, loss and grief
- Workplace issues
- Sexual, physical or emotional abuse and the effects of childhood abuse
- Low self esteem
- Chronic feelings of emptiness and persistent feelings of unhappiness.
My general availability is during the week, not weekends. If you think counselling might be the way forward for you, then give me a call on 07530 854530 and we can discuss this, alternatively check out my website on www.morency.co.uk.
I look forward to meeting you.
