I am an experienced Counsellor working on a one-to-one basis with my clients. I offer short term counselling for 12 weeks to look at specific issues or longer term counselling for up to two years, in which feelings and patterns of behaviour can be explored in greater depth. I have been qualified since 1999 and I have worked with clients with a variety of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem.
Your first step is to contact me for an initial meeting where we can talk through your reasons for wanting counselling. During the initial meeting I will ask some questions about your background and circumstances, so we can build up a picture of you and your requirements. We discuss at the interview if counselling with me would be of benefit to you or if another type of counselling would be more helpful.
I mainly do psychodynamic counselling; I work slightly differently when doing bereavement counselling. Psychodynamic counselling involves looking at how childhood and early relationships with our parents or care givers, can impact on how we view ourselves and relate to others. By becoming more self aware, we can begin to make changes in our lives.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited counsellor with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked as a counsellor in various organisations since 1995. Since 1998 that work has been for a North London counselling centre; where I see clients with a wide variety of problems.
I have also worked as a bereavement service counsellor and as a youth counsellor at a youth counselling centre in central London for the 18-25 year age group.
