Training, qualifications & experience
RGN, DN, Dip(Open), BA(Hons),
Dip & Pg Dip,Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling. (University Of Hertfordshire)
Senior Accredited Member of National Counselling Society
Reg Member BACP.
I have worked as a District Nurse, followed by 12 years as a Community Macmillan
Specialist Nurse. During this time I have found caring for people and their families nearing
the end of their lives challenging, but extremely rewarding. So I decided to further develop
my awareness, knowledge and skills in supporting them psychologically through their
struggles at this very difficult time in their lives. This eventually led me to train in counselling
therapy. As a result I am now able to help those who are struggling in many other ways not just with a life threatening illness.
My Counselling Experience
I am an experienced counsellor working extensively in my private practice. As a result of my counselling experience and regular updating I have been awarded Senior Accreditation with the National Counselling Society
I have worked in an NHS counselling service providing both short and longer term counselling, as well as a private agency.
