Counselling can help with issues personal to you, ranging from day to day worries to distressing and traumatic events. I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgmental environment so that you can feel safe to explore any issue that is personal to you. We are all unique and it is my belief that we all have the inner resources to live life in the way that feels right for us. Person-Centred therapy provides the conditions to access those resources and enable us to live a more satisfying life.
I am a fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My experience as a counsellor includes teaching counselling within a college setting and working with adults in private practice and the bereavement services. I am experienced in working with issues relating to divorce, separation, family problems, depression and anxiety, identity and sexuality, low self-esteem, loss and life changes.
I also work for a national charity managing a counselling service providing emotional support for children and young people, and I mentor qualified and trainee counsellors. My work has provided me with a wealth of experience of different issues that adults, young people and children face.
I work in private practice offering counselling in my home for adults and young persons (aged 16+).
The quality of the relationship between the counsellor and the client is paramount for therapy to take place, therefore I offer a £15 1 hour initial introductory (getting to know each other) session.
