About me

I am a transpersonal psychotherapist and supervisor. I have wide experience of helping people with the emotional and stress aspects of physical illnesses, especially cancer. I have worked at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre and within the NHS. I also work with fertility issues, and maternal bereavement. At The Headache Clinic in Yeovil, I work with the emotional and stress components of persistent headaches and cluster migraines.

I use a wide range of psychotherapy approaches to help people, and particularly enjoy working with transpersonal techniques. This engages creativity, imagination, arts, sand-play and spirituality , in order to help people make sense of whatever situation life has presented them with.

I welcome clients with depression, anxiety and stress-related issues; and indeed any of the general issues that take people into psychotherapy.

I work with people who have terminal illnesses; as well as those who have been bereaved and would like to make sense of their loss, and regain a sense of optimism and purpose in life.

I also welcome clients who would simply like to explore the answers to questions such as 'I feel bent out of shape by life, I wonder what shape I was intended to be?', and those would like to make sense of the meaning of their life; perhaps in response to a sudden crisis, or when life has turned upside down.

Supervision of other therapists is an important part of my work; and I value the supervisory role; and I am enthusiastic to help my supervisees develop their practice; and to take care of themselves (to avoid burn out for example); as well as the primary role of discussing their case load.

Training, qualifications & experience

I was trained at The Centre for Transpersonal Psychology in London, and have been in private practice for over 20 years.

I am an accredited psychotherapist, supervisor and training supervisor with UKCP, and I have an advanced diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy from The Centre for Transpersonal Psychotherapy.

I have extensive experience of Systemic Family Constellations, and use this technique on a one-to-one basis whenever indicated.

I am an Advanced Practitioner Member of the BFVEA (British Flower and Vibrational Essences Association) and I offer Bach Flower Remedies as part of my psychotherapy practice, if they are needed.

I have worked at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre (now Penny Brohn Cancer Care) for six years, as part of their Psychotherapy and their Education teams.

I have worked in the NHS as a clinical supervisor for specialist cancer nurses.

I am a team member of the multi-disciplinary Headache Clinic in Yeovil (see www.theheadacheclinic.co.uk).

I run workshops on transpersonal psychotherapy themes; and on Bach Flower remedies.
