Joyce Leys Dip Couns. MBACP Reg
About me - I am an experienced counsellor, and have always had a real heart to help others.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone take control of their lives, make positive choices, and changes in their lives during the counselling process. It is a privilege to witness and be part of this change process, on a journey of discovery to a place of wholeness and wellness.
Clients gain knowledge of themselves, and are given lifelong tools to help them deal with the stresses of their day to day lives.
As a life long learner, I enjoy continuous professional development, keeping my practice current, relevant and helpful for clients.
How I work - I offer a kind, empathic, respectful, non judgmental, safe and supportive environment based on trust. I use an integrative model, from person centered, psycho-dynamic, and CBT ( cognitive behavioral therapy) perspectives. I can establish a good therapeutic relationship early in the counselling relationship, enabling early signs of change which is important for me and my clients.
Professional membership - I am a registered member of BACP, which is the UK regulating body for safe practice. I am working towards BACP accreditation, and offer counselling for a variety of life issues. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
