I offer a professional, confidential and effective counselling service based in Loughborough.
My aim as a counsellor is to listen; giving you the space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours without judgement from me. I'm motivated to see people find or enhance fulfilment in their life.
The type of counselling I offer:
My training was in a type of humanistic psychotherapy called Transactional Analysis. The theory helps us to understand how we become who we are, so we can increase our understanding of ourselves and others. It offers useful tools for communication and self-improvement. I am a member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I work within the ethical framework of this membership organisation.
What to expect:
People often ask 'what can I expect at a counselling session?' Our initial session is an opportunity to find out more about each other, to see whether counselling is what you want, and if I can offer a service that is appropriate for your needs.
If you continue to see me for counselling you can expect sessions that are tailored to suit you, I believe it is important to agree together how we structure our time to ensure you feel comfortable and we know what we are working towards together.
It may be at first you are not sure what you want from counselling, it can feel like a unique experience having time dedicated to thinking about your own needs. I believe it is important to pace counselling so that someone feels comfortable and safe to explore growth and change when they feel ready.
