About me

I am a experienced therapeutic counsellor/ Psychotherapist offering face to face counselling to Adults who are wishing to explore personal difficulties that are holding them back from the true potential in life.  I also specialised in my later years working with adult couples who are in conflict or feel stuck in their relationship. I have also provide a safe place for couples to work through  mediation through difficulties in separating. At present I am working Part time for a children's team offering counselling for children aged 5-11 within Norfolk and surrounding counties.

With over 30 years working in the Health profession I've attained good listening skills and appreciate the importance to be able to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for clients to consider and explore what may have brought them to counselling.

My work can be short term or open ended with adults clients.

My experience over the years has been supporting clients who have come to counselling due to crises, anxiety, depression, loss, physical and emotional abuse as well as addictive and repetitive life patterns.

The British Psychological Society defines counselling as a process "designed to help people improve their sense of well-being, alleviate their distress, resolve their crises and increase their ability to solve problems and make decisions for themselves".

If you would like to explore the possibility of counselling with me, please telephone or email and we can set a date and time that is convenient for the both of us to explore your current situation and to decide if counselling and Psychotherapy is right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
