Profile
I am a qualified female psychotherapist, holding a BA(Hons) degree in counselling. I have a therapeutic practice in quiet and small business building in Sudbury, Suffolk offering a warm and welcoming confidential, professional counselling service. Counselling is offered on a one to one basis for adults and adolescents. Every client is treated with respect, honesty and listened to in a non-judgemental way. I abide by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework for good practice and therapy is tailored to suit the individual needs of the client.
The The first session (which is free) gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and expectations. If we feel we can work together, six sessions of psychotherapy will be offered to you initially, however many clients choose to continue with therapy and the number of sessions required vary according to the client's needs. Each session is 50 minutes and will be tailored to your needs.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have a BACP accredited First Class Honours Degree in Counselling. I also have a BACP accredited diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I hold a current CRB check. Alongside my professional qualifications I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years and wealth of experience of working in the area of mental health and mental illness and mental distress, hence I have a strong interest in mental well-being and complex mental health issues that can occur when a person suffers from a enduring mental illness such as Personality Disorder, Bi-Polar, Depression or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have experience of working therapeutically with people who have complex mental health issues and welcome clients with enduring mental illnesses and mental distress.
I also have many years experience of working with services such as the Police Service, and Hospital services, therefore have a good understanding of these work environments and the stresses and traumas experienced by personnel who work in these areas. Therapeutically I can offer a deep understanding to the mental distress that can arise from these areas and welcome clients from the emergency services.
