FACE FEAR, BE HAPPY, LOVE FREELY.....
* Do you feel lonely, but struggle trusting others and so keep yourself at a distance?
* Do you wish you were confident in everything you do and felt loved by those in your life?
* Do you long for a secure loving intimate relationship, but feel like you attract the wrong type, or worry you’re not good enough and that they will leave you?
* Is your life an emotional roller coaster and are you tired of trying all the time and nothing seems to change and feel like you're just repeating mistakes?
* Do you strive for perfection and terrified of failing ?
If so I can help you and there is a solution...
These fears are not uncommon, but can be debilitating, exhausting and cause great pain and sadness, because they restrict you from being all that you are and achieving what you truly desire in life.
At JW Counselling I specialise in working with people who struggle with FEAR and LOW SELF ESTEEM and who would like to be HAPPY, confident and successful; free to be who they truly are, enjoy life and have the loving relationships, they deserve.
I deliver short and longer term counselling for Adults, Couples, Children and Families.
What separates my work from other therapists is that I work with the whole person (whatever age); mind, body and soul. To creatively explore who they are and learn to trust and express themselves, without fear and build their confidence to be true to themselves and love freely.
"From being long term ill, out of work and in total despair about my failed marriage, I now find myself doing wonderful coastal runs, working in a new job and coming home to my wonderful husband. I would never have dreamed it"
If this sounds interesting and you're curious to find out more call me or email me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
ABOUT MY WORK
Throughout my career and 1000's of counselling hours, within many different settings I have helped a large number of individuals, couples and families achieve balance, happiness, joy and the space to truly be themselves. To choose love not fear and be confident within their lives.
I am transparent and congruent in all I do and my focus is to liberate and empower everyone I work with at a pace, which suits them.
I have a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience to support my holistic perspective, whether that is through cognitive approaches such as Transactional Analysis, CBT and Systemic or more creative body-focused interventions (eg: Gestalt) or perhaps coming from a Transpersonal; spiritual/existential approach, depending on the client.
*The foundation and core theories of my practice of my work are Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Gestalt, Systemic, Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal and Body Therapy*
ABOUT ME
I moved to Cornwall six years ago, leaving my life in Cambridge behind, because I had to follow my heart. I knew it was my home and it took me two years to move, but I had fallen in love with the beauty, the sea and the quality of life, so I took the leap. I have passion, balance and freedom in my own life achieved by facing and overcoming my own fears, hanging out with loved ones, surfing, walking my dog( Faith), meditating, Yoga, listening to music, singing, dancing, reading, cooking and writing.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I originally trained with Relate in 2006, as a couples counsellor and worked for them for three years, along-side qualifying to work with children, young people and families.
Before setting up JW Counselling, I worked for three years, as a secondary school counsellor, working with groups and individual, whilst also working for the Barnardos Cornwall Early Intervention Team; a service for families in need of support. I also supported victims of Domestic Abuse.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?
Taking the next step to choose counselling can be scary, but knowing what steps you would be taking if you decide to commit to taking charge and giving the time, effort and commitment to making a positive change in your life and getting the right support to do it.
For the process to be successful it is vital that we take the time and develop a trusting relationship, where we can explore and work together through these clear steps of progression to help you, [or you as a couple, or family]
Face and Overcome Fear, Be Happy and Love Freely....
1: Initially we will arrange a 'Get Acquainted' Phone Call, where I can answer any questions you may have prior to choosing to work with me.
2: We will then arrange an 'Initial Assessment' Session and we can explore what has been causing you pain and upset and what help you need and if I am the right solution for your needs. We will then work out how best we may move forward together and which programme you choose is right for you.
3: When we get started we will explore what's truly important to you and what you desire in life and what fears are standing in your way. I will help you to rediscover your authentic self and learn how to protect, trust and assert yourself. You will reconnect with your courage and take charge of your fear and learn to see it for what it really is.
I will teach you the skills how to truly listen, feel and express yourself and communicate successfully with others and as your confidence builds, you will become free from the expectations of others, to be true to yourself and open your heart and mind to the possibilities, love and fun in all areas of your life.
