Profile
I have worked in the caring profession for over 25 years and in 2000 I began training as a counsellor. I offer couples counselling, anger management, bereavement, depression, anxiety, abuse, relationship issues. My model of work is integrative, which is used to describe ‘the bringing together of parts into a whole’ and my personal philosophy and framework of working is “everyone is valued no one is judged”. I work with children, adults and couples.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, a working partnership to help facilitate growth, this supports all my theoretical work. My aim is to create an environment of warmth and understanding which allows the person to explore all aspects of their lives, in a safe, supportive, respectful way. I offer short and long term counselling.
In 2009 I completed my MA in counselling at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and my dissertation was on ‘The Link between Resilience and Mental Health’. I am an accredited member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists) and a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society).
Therapies Offered: Integrative, incorporating humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT ways of working.
