Hello and welcome.
Taking the first step to a counselling process can seem daunting. By reading through my profile I hope that this will help you to gain the information that you may need to go ahead and make that first contact.
What counselling is:
Counselling is a place for you to talk about any emotional, personal, family, or work related issue/s that you may be experiencing . It is also a place that you will be listened to and understood without judgement and given the time to self reflect. Time is also given for you to look into your thought processes, behaviours and ways of being. If CBT is used then there may be some tasks to do such as therapeutic word writing, drawing, art and linking those unhelpful thoughts to any unhelpful behaviours. In some cases therapy homework will be asked of you. This usually involves self reflection of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I try to be as creative as is needed within your process.
Below you will find a description of my training and qualifications, The types of areas of counselling that I work with, and the types of therapy that I can offer to you.
As well as a face to face talking therapy, I now incorporate home visiting by arrangement.
I will look forward to hearing from you.
