You may feel anxious about coming for counselling, but you will find a very warm, relaxed and accepting atmosphere where you can talk about your worries and feelings in confidence and can be yourself. Whatever your difficulty, you will be able to tell your story and be accepted for who you are.
People find talking therapies very helpful in many circumstances. These might include sorrow and loss, change, depression, anxiety, feeling stuck and confused, pet bereavement, feeling angry, workplace problems, lack of confidence, fear, and many more.
However big or small you think your problem is, you will find respect for your unique experience and feelings, and receive specially tailored ways or working which are designed to suit you and your needs.
It is my belief that the best wisdom for ourselves comes from within us, and that truly meaningful change comes from knowing, understanding and accepting ourselves and finding answers that are right for us.
Working with a counsellor provides the experience, skills and knowledge to help you find what you need.
My vision is to promote emotional well-being, which I define as accepting, understanding and loving all parts of ourselves, being comfortable within our world, having rewarding relationships with others and having inner strength, resources and resilience to cope when life is challenging.
I work in the following ways:
Person-Centred Counselling which means that you share your situation at a pace which is comfortable for you.
Creative Therapy because some people find it helpful to express themselves in practical or creative ways.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help you to look at positives in your situation and move forward when you are ready.
Hypnotherapy and Guided Visualisation - useful for deep relaxation and other issues.
Short or long term counselling - I can provide long or short term work according to your needs.
