About me

I am a qualified and experienced Relate trained Relationship Counsellor and Psychosexual Therapist (PgDip) with over 18 years experience, a member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), a registered member of BACP and a member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC). I am bound by their codes of ethics and principles of good practice.

I offer both Zoom and face to face sessions.

The sense of loss and pain triggered by divorce or separation can feel overwhelming particularly when triggered by an affair.  Counselling can help you to manage the anxiety, anger, feelings of betrayal and any other emotions you may be experiencing, by working together we can look at strategies to help you to cope.

I work with couples and individuals of all ages and sexual orientation regarding a range of issues affecting relationships.  My fee is from £65 per hour.

If it is Psychosexual programme that is required the sessions are tailored to your needs and particular issue. I appreciate that talking about your intimate relationship could be embarrassing and distressing therefore I aim to make you to feel as comfortable as possible.

If you are seeking help for porn or sex addiction you will gain an understanding of why this has become an issue for you and how to work towards achieving a healthier lifestyle.  If you are the partner of someone who is struggling with this addiction we will work together to help you come to terms with the impact of the addiction on both yourself and your relationship.

I undertake Continuous Professional Development which is part of the requirement to practice as a therapist and to enhance my practice. I hold full professional indemnity insurance.  I also attend regular supervision to ensure that I am practising ethically and in the interests of my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ATSAC
Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC)

The Association for Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC) is the leading UK organisation providing hope, information, support, and treatment options for those affected by sexual addiction and compulsivity.

ATSAC sets standards of practice for qualified therapists and provides accreditation for specialist training courses. A therapist who has gone through ATSAC recognised training will have the knowledge to respect and work with you sensitively to find out how best to support your needs.

Therapy options may include one-to-one sessions, group work, and/or relationship counselling. ATSAC is a not-for-profit organisation.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
