12 Broad Street
I am an experienced psychotherapist working with adults with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, eating disorders, sexuality, abuse and OCD. I am trained in talking therapy, body and energy psychotherapy and have a deep and ongoing interest in the spirit and soul in the therapy room, and in life. Therapy sessions usually last 50 minutes unless working with trauma when sessions are usually an hour and a half. I also offer Clinical Supervision.
What happens in session
We will explore together what is going on for you, identify areas you want to work with and agree how we will work together. This can mean exploring things that happened to you in the past to understand how they are affecting you now. When these have been traumatic these can be held in your body, and we can work with your mind and body to reduce their impact on you now.
Training and Experience
I trained in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre in London and have experience working in Private Practice, the NHS and University Counselling Services.
Since graduating I have continued to explore ways of working with a range of experiences including self harm, suicidality and trauma. I have trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an approach to working with Trauma recommended by the National Institue of Clinical Excellence (NICE). I have also trained in an Energy Psychotherapy called Advanced Integrative Therapy (see www.AITherapy.org) which I find to be a very effective and gentle way of working with deeply held issues to offer lasting healing.
