I am an experienced psychotherapist and offer a safe, accepting space to explore areas in your life where you want to make a meaningful change. I work with adults and have particular focus on helping you to work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and long term conditions. I am trained in talking therapy, body and energy psychotherapy and have a deep and ongoing interest in the spirit and soul in the therapy room and in life. I also offer Clinical Supervision. My standard fees are £45 and concessions are sometimes offered. I am available weekdays, Saturdays and some evenings and can offer sessions in Leicester and Stamford.
What happens in session
We will work together to make sense of how you are feeling, identify areas to work with to bring about meaningful change and greater acceptance. This can mean exploring things that happened to you in the past to understand how they are affecting you now. When these have been traumatic these can be held in your body, and I offer mind and body approaches which can be very effective in releasing past experiences you want to let go of.
Training and Experience
I trained in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre in London and have experience working in Private Practice, the NHS and University Counselling. Since graduating I have continued to explore ways of working with a range of experiences including trauma and have trained in EMDR, and an energy psychotherapy called AIT (see AITherapy.org). I find this to be a very effective and gentle way of working with deeply held issues to offer lasting healing. I have a regular meditation practice and have spent significant time at the Findhorn community in Scotland in the last few years exploring spirituality and nature.
