Jenny Roberts, B.Sc. (Hons.), MBACP, Registered
I’m an experienced counsellor providing counselling to individuals and couples in Tunbridge Wells. I provide a safe and confidential environment so you may feel comfortable sharing what you’re experiencing, and supported to explore new possibilities in any area of life that is troubling you.
Do you ever feel you want to experience life differently? Are you going through a difficult time and don't know how to move forwards? Do you ever feel stuck, or find yourself in patterns that limit your capacity to get what you need from life?
Counselling can help you deal with life’s challenges, difficulties or traumatic events. By discussing your concerns you will be able to gain a better understanding of your thoughts, feelings or patterns, so you may gain new perspectives and make the changes you feel are right for you. In a supportive environment you will be able to work on any unresolved issues or anything from the past which is interfering with your life now so you may find new ways to move forwards.
I have had success working with people over a wide range of issues including relationships, intimacy, communication, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-confidence and self-acceptance. I have also worked substantially with life transitions, both personal and career.
Human beings aren’t perfect and when we come together in relationship we also bring all our imperfections, strengths and vulnerabilities. Couples counselling provides a neutral space to explore many of the difficulties that give rise to problems in relationships. This could mean exploring ways to improve how you communicate with each other, understanding differences in perspectives between you, or working through any specific challenges which are getting in the way of your relationship.
Typically we would work within a frame of six to twelve sessions, and on occasion you may be asked to practice some of the changes we discuss during our sessions.
It isn’t necessary to wait until you have a major difficulty in your relationship to engage in couples counselling. It can be enormously beneficial to attend to early feelings that don’t feel quite right so you can build the kind of connection you want between you. Engaging in couples counselling can help increase mutual understanding so that together you can find new ways to solve problems and create the kind of bond you want between you.
I’m happy to discuss any areas of your life that are troubling you. Please call me on 07515 570689

During the sessions a number of techniques were explored and her help has been a major factor in getting me to a better place. Her considerate but professional approach was key to identifying my aspirations” DW, 2014
“Jenny has given me the tools needed to overcome several hurdles from my past. I have continued to see improvements in the way that I am able to cope with life events long after our sessions together have ended. She is a patient, genuine and skilled therapist and I would certainly recommend her services.” Jodie, 2014
