I am a psychotherapist & counsellor, maths tutor and paddle-sport coach. I am also a Mother of 2, a keen kayaker, and novice climber (I believe it is never too late to learn something new!).
How I work
I work flexibly and optimistically with both adults and young people. I enjoy combining my skills to meet the particular needs of individuals who seek help.
The way I work varies greatly according to need. The early sessions tend to focus very much on getting to know the person I am working with. This involves forming an understanding of how they view their problems and how they experience the world around them. From there, we work together to make improvements to the persons life and help them get to where they want to be.
I am happy to work with anyone who has a problem that would benefit from a psychological approach.
Areas of Special Interest to Me
Problems arising from experiences with education and learning are one of my particular interests - working to overcome learning blocks or with problems arising for those who don't fit easily into the school setting.
As a former midwife, I also specialise in working with issues arising through pregnancy, birth and parenting.
If you would like more information, don't hesitate to get in touch or you can visit my website.
