About me
I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist working to help people achieve a greater degree of emotional freedom and to gain valuable personal insights. I have a gentle, respectful manner which can be particularly helpful for emotionally sensitive people.
I combine the most useful aspects of three different psychological approaches; person centred, psychodynamic and cognitive therapy and this has proven to be highly effective for various emotional issues.
During counselling, I will be alongside you to help you explore what is going on for you in the here and now and at a deeper level. This is a very safe and confidential process where you can be assured of acceptance and non-judgement, no matter what it is you are experiencing.
Where appropriate, we can consider how difficult past experiences may still be affecting you today, perhaps making important connections between how you feel now, and what you have experienced previously in your life. This can bring a great sense of release and can be both enlightening and empowering.
As therapy progresses we may identify unhelpful beliefs that have developed in your mind as a result of your experiences and we can work to replace these with more healthy, alternative beliefs that can help to restore your self confidence as you see things differently.
Although I am alongside you for support and guidance, you are ultimately in control of the sessions and you will never be pressured to talk about anything you do not want to.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
