Jenny Underwood MBACP
Newcastle Upon Tyne
Tyne And Wear
Hi, my name is Jenny. I am a counsellor, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), and registered member of the BACP.
I understand that coming for counselling can often feel like a big step so I aim to provide you with a comfortable, safe, confidential place to talk through the issues that are troubling you. I am a warm, empathic and non-judgemental person and I believe in working in accordance with the BACP's ethical principals which can be found here: http://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework/ethics.php
I'm based in Benton which is 20 minutes from Newcastle city centre. It is easily accessible by bus or metro. I offer flexible appointment times including evenings and weekends. I offer face-to-face sessions or Skype sessions. Please get in touch by phone, email or text if you would like to book an appointment or find out more.
Your first session will be at a discounted rate of £20. It will be a chance for you to meet me and find out more about counselling so you can decide whether it's something you think may be helpful for you.
If you are wondering whether or not to try counselling, then please have a look at this personal story from one of my previous clients who posted her story on the Counselling Directory:
Jenny gave me the time and space in a safe environment to think and to talk. Although I went to discuss long-term health problems and how they have affected my life, it soon dawned on me there was alot more to explore and discuss.
I have achieved a lot since we parted company and I will always be thankful for her help and support, but the work in between and after sessions has been mine. I am proud of that.
I would encourage anybody to give talking therapy a try. What is there to lose? Perhaps there is more to lose from not giving it a go?
Whatever you decide to do I wish you all the best and I hope you find the best way forward for you. If you think you'd like to get in touch I'll look forward to hearing from you.
