About me

I am Jen, a person-centred therapist working online and in person with LGBTQIA+ and GSRD clients. I am a proud member of the queer community and identify as trans non-binary and queer. My heart is with working with queer clients, and my experience of being othered allows me to relate to and empathize with a range of experiences inside and outside of the queer community.

I'm aware that if you’re trans, non-binary or gender nonconforming in any way things are particularly difficult at the moment. I provide a safe, accepting and affirming relationship in which you can be your full self, and explore the impact of living in a world that can be unwelcoming and sometimes dangerous for those who don’t fit gender norms, or who have any kind of identity that is not considered ‘mainstream’ (cisgender, heterosexual, white). I also celebrate the joy of being trans, which is not to be underestimated.

My approach is about giving you space to explore what is important to you, and involves us both being curious about your experience and how you can understand yourself better. Through offering a deeply empathetic relationship, I aim to counterbalance the discrimination and lack of validation you may encounter in the world.

This can enable you to become kinder to yourself. We can explore whatever is getting in the way of you thriving and living in a way that has meaning for you.

If any of this resonates with you please get in touch to discuss meeting for an assessment or to arrange a short chat on the phone first.
